Olympia Family Theater Presents: A Christmas Story
The classic holiday film, A Christmas Story, has managed to remain an annual holiday tradition of families across the country for nearly 30 years. To this day I can’t look at a BB gun without hearing a voice say “you’ll shoot your eye out”. And I still can’t help but wonder if I would be strong enough to resist a triple-dog dare. After all, there’s no way my tongue could really get stuck to that frozen streetlamp, right? The movie has obviously left a lasting impression on me and countless others. So, I can think of no better holiday treat than to go see Ralphie Parker and his family brought to life on the stage right here in Olympia.
Starting tonight, Olympia Family Theater proudly presents its adaptation of A Christmas Story, under the direction of Josh Anderson. The show runs December 2nd – 18th at the Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts at South Puget Sound Community College. Thursday and Friday showtimes are 7:00 p.m., while Saturday and Sunday showings are at 1:00 p.m. with additional 4:30 p.m. matinees on December 10th and 17th (both Saturdays). Tickets cost $16 for adults, $9 for kids 12 and under, with additional discounts for seniors, military, and students.
